saws and other writing tools

“If you’ve never seen a saw, then a log looks like a miracle.”

Think about that.

If what you want feels impossible, it’s tempting to conclude that it is.

But maybe…

Maybe it just seems that way because you haven’t yet found the right tools.

Maybe, to someone with the right tools, it’s in reach.

A lot of people tell me they want to write a book.

But they don’t know how, so over time, they’ve adopted the belief, “Well, I can’t” or “It would be WAY too hard/time-consuming.”

This would be like standing in a forest, wondering how you can get a log.

You might try feebly shaving at a tree trunk with a Swiss Army knife, or sitting by the roots and wishing with all your might.

You could drive yourself crazy.

“Maybe logs come from stores,” you might conclude, or “These must not be the right kinds of trees.”

Fortunately, there are people who:

🪚 Have a saw
⚒️ Are happy to lend it to you, and even teach you how to use it
🌲 Know which trees would yield the kind of log you’re looking for
🪵 Can give you a master class in log-making

Their “saws” include the knowledge of how to:

✅ Draft an outline
✅ Construct a scene that makes readers keep reading, even if it’s past their bedtime
✅ Craft a central theme and choose or discard material based on whether it serves that theme
✅ Invite readers into the topic, even if it’s a bit unusual or archaic

If you want to write a book, but think it’s impossible:

👀 Look for writers and learn their tools.

📝 Follow them on social media, read their content, study their advice. I post writing tips here on LinkedIn, so that’s one place to start.

📚 For personalized tree-cutting services, I mean book writing, hire a ghostwriter or book coach.

We can give you the structure, accountability, feedback, and encouragement you need to get that book out of your imagination and into people’s hands.

Hi there. I’m Kimberly, and I write books for people who don’t have the time, desire, or saws to write their own. If you want to know more, send me a message.
